Eyeing Health Minister Datuk Seri S Subramaniam's car crash


MALACCA: Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam suffered light neck injury when the car he was in, crashed into a lorry at KM220.6 of the south-bound North-South Expressway near Pedas-Linggi tonight.

It is learnt that the car carrying him and two others comprising his driver and bodyguard, was heading towards Malacca when the lorry veered into their lane at 8.30pm.

Subramaniam who is also MIC deputy president, was on the way to attend a meeting with the state MIC to discuss the upcoming MIC general assembly on Nov 30.
While Subramaniam and the driver known as Anwar, escaped with light injuries, the body identified as Sergeant Zulklifi Wahab was severely injuried in the abdomen.
The men were treated at Alor Gajah Hospital before being transferred to Malacca Hospital.
Meanwhile, Bernama reported Malacca MIC chairman Datuk M.S Mahadevan said Subramaniam's condition was described as stable.
"He is ok, can speak no problem, so far we know he sustained only a minor injury on the neck and is being treated," he said.
