Eyeing Isham Jalil's take on Mahathir's fear of Najib

MENGAPA TUN BEGITU TAKUT KEPADA NAJIB?

Kehadapan Tun Mahathir,

Ikhlas,
ISHAM JALIL

Eyeing Mathias Chang's venom

Dear Good People (MP)

Be Alert.

We are still FIGHTING COVID19 AND GOING ALL OUT TO RESCUE OUR ECONOMY.

But, two shameless political scumbags - Anwar and Tun can't be bothered about us,  the rakyat and wants to divert the issue by echoing baseless and moronic legal issues given by arseholes advisers that these two scumbags have the constitutional authority not to "recognise" the present government. There is no such constitutional right.

This is seditious and a fraudulent misrepresentation of the Supreme Law, our Constitution.

The biggest political fraud is now Tun M. Why?

He deviously resigned as PM and tendered his resignation to AGONG, because AGONG appointed him. Then this political fraud accepted the appointment by Agong as the "Interim PM".

Before that,  he did a Hollywood show of shedding crocodile tears at the PH Presidential Council Meeting and made defamatory statements that he was betrayed.  If truth be told,  he betrayed the entire country. Scumbag!

Anwar and Tun did not command a majority and therefore Agong in his absolute discretion, which cannot be challenged by these two political fraudsters or any other person,  rightfully appointed Tan Sri MUYHIDoDIN as PM.

THESE POLITICAL LIARS, have no guts to file for a Declaration in the Constitutional Court or any other Court to challenge the constitutionality of AGONG's sole and absolute discretion. No balls. Cowards!

So,  they keep harping that they do not recognise our PM and his government, for which all the Ministers took their oath before the Agong.

FIRST,  on receiving cock and bull advice from moronic lawyers and or retired judges etc that Parliament has the right to determine the legitimacy of AGONG's appointmemt they make freaking noise about that nonsense.

I whacked them and exposed their sinister assertions.  Then these scumbags retreated and shut the fuck up, because,  Malaysian parliament is not supreme like in UK. OUR CONSTITUTION IS SUPREME. PERIOD.

SO, THESE FRADULENT POLITICAL SCUMBAGS ARE NOW THROWING ANOTHER RED HERRING TO CONFUSE THE RAKYAT.

So now,  I am OPENLY CHALLENGING TUN M AND ANWAR.

SCUMBAGS,  I DARE BOTH OF YOU TO FILE AN APPLICATION IN ANY COURT THAT YOU CAN CHALLENGE AGONG'S APPOINTMENT.  AND THAT THE TWO OF YOU HAVE THE CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO  CONFER OR NOT CINFER RECOGNITION OF AGONG'S POWER TO APPOINT ANY MP AS PM.

IF YOU DONT DARE TO FILE SUCH AN APPLICATION,  I AM EXPOSING BOTH OF YOU AS IRRESPONSIBLE AND SINISTER POLITICAL LEADERS, DEVOID OF VALUES AND PRINCIPLES.

Hey,  scumbags,  are both of you freaking stupid that on the one hand, both of you  accepted the recognition from the Speaker of Parliament that devious Anwar is the Leader of the Opposition and will be seated in Parliament as such, and you numbskull Tun M has been down graded to be a back Bencher. Ouch. Not even a back seat driver.

Your acceptance of this arrangement is in itself the total acceptance of the constitutionality of the Muyhidden government. Did not your arseholes lawyers,  advisers etc tell both of you this simple truth? Or they misadvised you of your idiotic stance and political rubbish??? THAT COULD BE YOUR EXCUSE TO GET OUT OF THE QUAGMIRE. BLAME IT ON YOUR MORONIC ADVISERS

Tell the world lah who are these donkeys. Let them make their advice and case openly to the RAKYAT, since the RAKYAT is the ultimate boss. Let them stand before the spotlight so that the rakyat can remember them for what they are.

Swear upon the Quran and in the name of Allah in this Holy Month of Ramadan that both of you are not challenging AGONG's authority under the Constitution and are not fraudulently misleading the entire country.

If you refuse  then both of you are stupid and reckless by your present behaviour.  Swear!!!

The entire country are united in fighting COVID 19 and overcoming the tremendous hardships to save lives and our economy.

But, scoundrels like both of you lust for power and denigrate and insult our AGONG and try to ridicule the Constitutional Office of the King.  Traitors!

Now the punchline to these arsehole traitors.

Tun M,

I, Matthias Chang is now openly calling you and Anwar, traitors - for betraying the trust of the RAKYAT.  I challenge both of you to a public debate. Each one, an hour to say whatever is needed to be said. Two of you against me,  a nobody.  Show some balls.  Accept the challenge and get on with it.  Pick up the gauntlet!

I, also challenge both of you scumbags,  that since you don't "recognise" Muyhiddin as PM,  boycott parliament totally.

BECAUSE YOU SCUMBAG POLITICAL CON ARTISTES, HAVE NOT ACCEPTED PARLIAMENT'S UNRESERVED SURRENDER AND TOTAL SUBMISSION TO THE AGONG'S POWERS UNDER THE CONSTITUTION AND THE APPOINTMENT OF MUYHIDDIN AS PM and which Parliament has correctly expressed the RESPECT AND IMPLEMENTED THE PROTOCOLS TO TAN SRI MUYHIDDIN AS PM.

Tun M,  it used to be painful for me to have to criticise your shallowness.  Not anymore. Do you know why???

Because,  you can no longer command any respect as a former PM or be given any leeway as a 94 going to be 95 politician. Your shelf-life has expired. You are now a bleeding nuisance and an irritant. OMG,  you have degenerated to such a level of irrelevance.  What Karma!

In this Holy Month, have the decency and humility as a Muslim, to pray in earnest,  seek forgiveness and focus on the suffering of our entire nation and not indulge in theatrics and feed your lust and greed for power.  You had ample chance to do good deeds, granted by Allah,  but you showed utter contempt and ingratitude. Disgusting!

In final,  you deserve to be lumped with Anwar and Lim Kit Siang. The most disgusting tri-factor in our political history.

Matthias Chang.

Ps Tell your goons to surface in the open. This is war.  Come out in the open to do battle with me. Tell them,  no need to hide behind your arseholes.

Come out to a No-Holds-Barred war, if you goons have the balls. Cowards!

Eyeing Petronas status

May 7, 2020
By: Murray Hunter, Asia Sentinel

The ability of Malaysia’s national oil company Petronas to continue as a major revenue provider to the national budget is quickly waning, raising the specter of reduced spending, which in turn would mean cancellation of infrastructure works and health and education services, as well as trimming the bloated civil service, as potential nightmare options.

Oil and gas contributions to federal government revenue through petroleum income taxes, dividends and royalties averaged RM53.7 billion (US$12.1 billion at current rates), or 31.6 percent of the total between 2005 and 2015, peaking at 41.3 percent in 2009. This fell to 23 percent in 2019 and is expected to fall much further with both demand and the price of oil dropping below the floor due to the Coronavirus crisis.

In addition, Petronas has provided a convenient cash drawer for successive administrations over the years in cleaning up financial scandals, including Bank Bumiputra, Malaysian Airlines and the Proton national car project. Petronas provided the money to build some of former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamed’s most grandiose projects, including the KL Twin Towers, the Putra Jaya administrative capital and to bring Formula One racing in Malaysia.

Petronas was used to get Malaysia out of an RM31.5 billion forex scandal perpetrated by Mahathir in the early 1990s in which the financier George Soros outfoxed Bank Negara, making billions and earning Mahathir’s eternal antagonism. It paid off US$800 million in losses from Mahathir’s ill-fated Perwaja Steel project.  In 1998, it bailed out Mahathir’s eldest son Mirzan, purchasing his Konsortium Perkapalan for RM226 million and assuming debts of more than RM324 million. It also awarded in 2012 a RM700 contract to a firm in which Mahathir’s other son Mokhzani was a vice president.

The energy giant, which would become a world player in petroleum markets, was established just after the New Economic Policy (NEP) was crafted in 1971 to enhance bumiputra involvement in the economy. Petronas wrenched control of Malaysian oilfields from Royal Dutch Shell under nationalistic fervor. Through political maneuvering led by the inaugural chairman and UMNO politician Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, it took control over the rights to Sabah and Sarawak’s oil reserves in exchange for a 5 percent oil royalty, which has been a subject of controversy for years.

Today, however, the pride and financial backstop of the federal government is suffering from the sudden crash in demand for oil and gas caused by the reaction to the advent of the coronavirus. This is on top of other issues facing the company, including delays in the rollout of projects, and lackluster downstream activity performance.

In the federal government, Petronas also now faces a principal stakeholder that has been used to a steady revenue stream. This is particularly the case when Malaysian national budgets of late have been in deficit. Public debt has grown to 52.5 percent of nominal gross domestic product as of December 2019. Finance minister Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz just announced that Malaysia’s 2020 budget deficit will rise to 4.7 percent of GDP because of the RM260 billion package to counter the economic effects of the coronavirus crisis.

This figure could be expected to further blow out as growth and revenue projections are not met due to economic contraction resulting from the extended time of the Movement Control Order (MCO). The government, realizing this, is now very quickly trying to get the economy operating once again to prevent further financial stress upon the national budget.

Petronas has a number of serious issues to contend with, which cannot be ignored in the uncertain coronavirus environment. Oil and gas reserves are quickly depleting. Former economic affairs minister Azmin Ali last year, in answer to a parliamentary question, stated that Malaysia’s oil reserves are expected to last based on current production, only for another 10 years. This is probably a pessimistic estimate, particularly when Petronas is cutting production by half from May, and any return to previous demand levels may take a long time. This will eat deeply into the company’s revenue for months, if not years to come.

Petronas has been expanding its production capacity through the purchase of a stake in Brazil’s Petroleo Brasileiro SA oil production, Argentina’s Vaca Muerta shale oil fields, a future oil drilling contract in 10 offshore fields in Mexico, and existing fields in Vietnam.

In recognition of the need to diversify, Petronas over the last decade and a half attempted to develop its retail presence across the ASEAN region. The Petronas foray into retail petrol kiosks led to a disappointing start-up and sell-off in Cambodia, Indonesia and Thailand. The company has also skirmished into property, mainly local Malaysian developments, and entered and exited the private hospital industry with its sale of Putra Place Medical Centre a few years ago to Khazanah.

Petronas entered the lubricants business in 2008, producing and distributing motor, agricultural, and ancillary oils, distributing them across 27 countries. Although Petronas lubricants are the title sponsor of the F1 Mercedes-AMG Petronas motorsports team, the brand is still within the ruck of brands, far out of reach of market leadership within a highly competitive market. Although the downstream business grew by 11 percent in sales value last year, it represents only 8 percent of group revenue.

Petronas is not experiencing a smooth rollout in its development projects. A venture into Canada to build a pipeline to exploit natural gas reserves, after purchasing Progress Energy Resources for US$6 billion back in 2012, has been met with delays over native titles and environmental impact studies, drawing out costs without incoming revenues. It has also caused local controversy in Canada by offshoring rig construction to China. Green advocates, Ecojustice and Sierra Club have taken Petronas Canada to court over environmental assessments.

The Pengerang Integrated Complex in Johor recently experienced an explosion, fire, and death of five workers. Repairs to this plant are delayed due to the current difficulty of getting replacement parts from China, thus delaying the rollout of this recently commissioned plant to full production.

Perhaps one of the most fundamental problems with Petronas is the lack of ethnic diversity of the board of directors and senior management. All top positions within Petronas, excepting one person, are Malays. It is a group that is the cream of the Malay business elite, who are recruited and nurtured through a scholarship scheme that recruits those connected with the Malay elite circles and from professional middle-class family backgrounds.

Although one could congratulate Petronas as being one of the success stories of the NEP, the resulting conservative management establishment is more akin to a civil service rather than a corporation. This weakness will be very challenging in a time where the evolution of the coronavirus crisis will dictate uncertainty well into next year. Even core drilling operations within Malaysian waters are under potential threat from the Chinese Coast Guard as recently reported in Asia Sentinel.

*Petronas has slipped from 68th in the Global Fortune 500 during 2012-14, to 158th last year. The company has also slipped from being the largest producer of LNG to fifth. Racial politics has slipped into business decision making within distributorships, trading, and retail, sheltering management from experience necessary to deal within open business environments.*

During the last few months of Mahathir’s second stint as prime minister, he tried to look at possible ways Petronas could raise funds. One of his ideas was to break up Petronas into smaller business units, the Petronas Chemicals Group, Petronas Carigali, and Petronas Gas, selling equity off to Sabah and Sarawak state governments.

As the US-based Energy International Administration (EIA) forecast that demand for oil would drop to 95.5 million barrels per day from the 105 million average during 2019, Petronas has just raised USD $6 billion in two bond issues to refinance subsidiaries, capital expenditure, working capital, and general corporate expenditures.

In Kuching, the High Court ordered Petronas on May 5 to pay RM1.3 billion in state sales taxes from 2018 on sales to the Sarawak government, following the dismissal of Petronas’ application to stay the implementation order, issued by the Comptroller of state sales tax. Petronas tried to suspend this payment on the grounds that it would suffer financial hardship, and that its ability to pay dividends to the federal government would be affected.

Financial performance within the international oil and gas industry looks uncertain and fragile. ExxonMobil reported its first quarterly loss since 1999, Shell has cut its dividend to preserve cash, announcing austerity measures aimed at increasing liquidity. With crude prices around $20 plus per barrel, the oil market is almost totally at the mercy of the pandemic, with a glut of oil in storage to keep prices depressed for some months into the future.

With tourism, air transport, and logistics depressed, national governments, including Malaysia will have to go deeper into deficit financing to pump their respective economies.

This is a dilemma for Petronas which will be under extreme pressure to pay some form of dividend to help the government manage the forthcoming budget. Without help from Petronas, the finance minister will have to canvas a reintroduction of the GST, maybe even at a higher rate than previously, increases of income and corporate tax, and even the introduction of new taxes. The company has been a major contributor to Malaysia’s wealth. However, times are changing where it may not be a dependable lifeline for much longer.

Eyeing the late Tan Sri Yuen Yet Leng story

Thursday, October 1, 2015

Farewell thee, Beloved Son of Malaysia

Death is unavoidable. The only question is when.

Tan Sri Yuen Yuet Leng
Nation's Unsung Hero
15 Sept 1927 - 1 Oct 2015

Today, Malaysia mourns one of her most illustrious sons, Tan Sri Yuen Yuet Leng.
Tan Sri Yuen Yuet Leng's contribution to Malaysia till today remains immeasurable. Simply because you can never quantify the meaning of peace.

Tan Sri Yuen joined the police force during a time when all police officers are marked men. The war against communist was very much at a stalemate then. And when he joined, he was yet the citizen of this nation.

Yet, he willingly placed his life on the line and was wounded in action twice. The first time, he was shot four times. But doctors only removed 3 bullets, not knowing there was another bullet still lodged in his body.

A story he had always shared was about a young Malay policeman who died in his arm. How that the young man asked him to help him to seek forgiveness from his mum as he would no longer be able to take care of her. To him, there was no race in the police force, for they are all brothers.

He was also famously quoted to say that he is a Malay, he is an Indian, and he is also a Chinese. So if you hurt any 3 race, you hurt him.

Sacrifices
Along the way, he had many sacrifices. But none can be compared to him losing his daughter. As he was required to be involved in a critical mission, he could not be by his sickly daughter's side. The poor girl breathed her last as soon as Tan Sri Yuen made it to the hospital after his mission was completed.

Contributions

Homing of Surrendered Communists
As a police officer, numerous attempts were made at his life. But he was a magnanimous man. Often, he would try to arrest the communist terrorists rather than killing them. And he would take them home to his house instead of leaving them in the lockup.

His sincerity and that of his fellow officers were instrumental in getting many surrendered communists to readjust back to life as civilian and having a different view of the country.

SEP vs CEP
During the times when British officers' view means God's view, he tried many times to argue and to defend the lives of the communist terrorists. He was seen as crazy by his British bosses. But he prevailed.

The British, to accommodate his 'craziness' and that of his fellow Malayan officers, the British introduced the term Surrendered Enemy Personnel (SEP) to contrast against Captured Enemy Personnel (CEP).

This in turn gave assurance communists who wanted to surrender a guarantee that they would not be prosecuted once they surrender. (Penalty for being captured was death as ownership of weapons is death, and being a communist means they had probably made an attempt of the life of a police officer, which also invites death penalty).

Even with the new category, Tan Sri Yuen and his fellow officers strived to ensure that captured enemy personnel get recategorized as SEP.

SEP vs CEP vs REP
When talking about communist activities in Malaysia, one always make the mistake of lumping all communist activities in Malaysia as committed by Communist Party of Malaya (CPM). The fact is that there were 3 factions of CPM in Peninsular Malaysia and the communist threat in Sarawak came from NKCP or North Kalimantan Communist Party.

He was posted to Sarawak as the Chief of Police for Sarawak to mitigate the risk of him being assassinated by CPM kill squad and that of Tan Sri Khoo to Perak (unfortunately, it did not turn out well for Tan Sri Khoo, who was assassinated by CPM - Marxist Leninism faction).
There, he applied the same skills and vigour he applied in Peninsular Malaysia.
Due to his leadership which was strongly supported by then Sarawak CM, Abdul Rahman Yaakub on the political front, they were able to force the communist there, led by Bong Kee Chok, to sue for peace.

Negotiation for peace nearly failed though. The communists did not agree to the use of term SEP. They did not want to acknowledge they had surrendered.

Tan Sri Yuen suggested to use the term REP instead. REP which mean Returning Enemy Personnel, gave face to the communists to be able to return to the society after a short while of internment.

(Different from the communist in Peninsular which was much more strongly rooted in communist ideology, the communist party in Sarawak were more likely to be Sarawakians who thought they were fighting for an independent Sarawak. Thus, saving face was very important.)

The surrender that Tan Sri Yuen had handled together with the rest of his team had decimated the communist threat, resulting in the mass surrender of nearly 700 communists, leaving only a hardcore about 200 communists who were ideologically stronger.

After Tan Sri's retirement, a group of former communists from Sarawak even volunteered to be Tan Sri Yuen's protective detail as there were rumours of threat against his life.

Nipping Third Insurgency at the Bud
Of all of Tan Sri Yuen's contribution, nipping the threat from the third insurgency was the most valuable contribution from Tan Sri.

It was during the time of peace talk between Malaysian Government and CPM at Haadyai that Tan Sri Yuen had made this great contribution.

Frustrated that Malaysian Government was not willing to budge on several key request, CPM Secretary-General Chin Peng (born Ong Boon Hua) had threatened to mobilise his CPM units which had been infiltrated into Peninsular Malaysia. He was confident that his trump card would force the Malaysian Government to heed to his demand to have Tugu Negara be demolished and his party be allowed to be registered.

Unknown to him, all his units infiltrated into Peninsular Malaysia had already changed allegiance. All the units had been infiltrated by Special Branch officers who had by then had full control over the guerrilla forces.

Chin Peng was shocked, and had to relent to Government's stance.

Note that Chin Peng did not dare to have this written in his book. And I only decided to share this as Tan Sri is no longer around. This was shared by him in an interview myself and several others had conducted at his home November last year.

Tan Sri Yuen's Last Wish
He only has one last wish. That we the new generation of Malaysians to stand together to defend and protect this nation of ours. So that the sacrifices that he and those of his generation will not be in vain.

Tan Sri Yuen Yuet Leng and myself (standing). This photo was taken November last year at his home. We were supposed to interview him for an hour, but ended up for 3 hours. The short chat reinvigorated Tan Sri Yuen, and it heartened him that there were young people who still care for this nation.

Rest In Peace, Sir. We shall take up your challenge for

Eyeing Dato Sri Syed Ali Alhabshi's open letter to Tun M

1. KE HADAPAN YAB Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, mantan Perdana Menteri ke-7 yang amat saya kasihi lagi dihormati.

-SM
